SSAGO is excited to be helping volunteer with the running of traditional scouting activities at Wintercamp again this year on the weekend of the 6th January 2017, but we need your help to make it happen!
Wintercamp is an activity camp running right in the middle of winter, hosted by The Scout Association. The event is open to the Scout and Explorer sections and is also open to Guides and Rangers.
Volunteering at Wintercamp is great fun, food and warm indoor accommodation is provided and you will also be helping to spread the word about SSAGO! That's right - indoor accommodation!
It couldn't be easier. Spend a relaxed weekend around a campfire, helping scouts and explorers learn traditional Scouting Skills - from pioneering to orienteering to backwoods cooking!
We are looking for any ideas and suggestions of what you think would be good - from backwoods cooking ideas, to any activity ideas that fit the theme of traditional scouting and would still be fun in the cold! Even if you can't make it to the event, drop us an email if you have any ideas that'd be good!
New for this year we are trying to get a few volunteers at the second Wintercamp site at Hawkhirst, as well as at Gilwell Park, so if it easier for you to get to Northumberland than Essex then put this in when registering.
Ready to get involved? Book before the 9th of December at http://wintercamp.ssago.org
